It has been said that the pen is mightier than the sword. But this statement merely sets up a false dichotomy, for the pen and the sword are equally powerful, and are both essential to the winning of a revolution. The sword alone cannot win a revolution but by the sword, our revolution can be won. Similarly, the pen alone cannot win a revolution, but by the pen, our revolution may be won. It is the coming together of our intellectuals as well as the braves, foot soldiers on the streets, that ensure Black people will win our revolution.
